Four teams including China and Korea 'threw' their group stage matches, offering no attempts to win.
Blatant match fixing that drew boos from the sparse crowd watching the pantomime performances by the respective teams who made no effort to even hit shuttlecocks over the net.
These disgusting acts of unsportsmanship and dishonesty have received widespread worldwide condemnation for being against the spirit of the Olympics 'movement'
however, it appears in Croydonclasswar's opinion to be entirely inkeeping with the spirit of the Olympic games as envisioned by Hitler and the Nazi's in Berlin in 1936. ie. two-facedness, double dealing, ruthless commercialism, elitism, political stock filling, and imperialist scare mongering.

The British army has been recalled from the frontline in order to fill empty seats at the crappy Olympic events. It is unclear at the moment whether any of the booing at the badminton disgrace came from soldiers of her majesty's armed forces (who are camped out in tents in and around the olympic park in vacant lots and carparks.)
So far there have been no arrests.
Ah, the 'Olympic Ideal'. It's nice to be reminded once every four years that if we really try we can come together as one world to overlook or totally ignore injustice and celebrate the twin virtues of political grandstanding and corporate profiteering.
